It is a mission to raise awareness about the serious occupational risks firefighters face every single day, including our significantly elevated risk of cancer, and the critical need for regular prescreening and preventative care.

A Mission Bigger Than the Walk
For most of my career as a firefighter and paramedic, I served under Chief Groth’s leadership. He was the type of leader you did not want to disappoint — a strong, dedicated, and incredible mentor. I could always trust his guidance completely. Supporting Walk for the Red is a great honor for me, and I am committed to doing whatever I can to keep his memory alive through this cause.
In partnership with Neighbors United to help support Michigan firefighters and their families who are currently battling cancer. All proceeds from this effort go directly toward providing financial assistance to those fighting, supporting the families who stand beside them, and funding early cancer detection and prevention programs. Whether you’ve been personally touched by cancer or simply want to stand behind the brave men and women who run toward danger to protect us, your support matters.
